Issues since 4.0.4 update;
1. Camera photo app: very slow to open. Manual settings removed - why ? One of the big advantages of Sony was it's camera - now it's just taken a step backwards to be like all the other junk out there.
2. Video - very, very slow for app to open, and I miss what I'm trying to record.. Poor.
3. Picture Gallery - why 2 choices, to view ?
4. Picture Gallery - very slow to load, to view pictures.
5. SMS issues. When you write 'new message' and then you want to send, it forces you to use 'add recipient' and it will not accept a straight input of a phone number - it will only let you send from your contacts. I have checked, and rechecked this, and the only way I can send a text to a number NOT in my contacts, is to go to 'Phone', type in the phone number, and then select 'send text message'. This is nuts. Why on earth can you not just type in a phone number in the SMS function ?
6. Keyboard issue. Depending on whether you are in a browser, or SMS, you get different keyboard layouts. I have disable all bar the English language input, but it makes no difference. In one app, Browser, the 'comma' is gone - you have to switch to 'number input menu' and then SHIFT - just to put in a comma ?? Yet, in the FB app, the keyboard layout is different. As it is in SMS. Why are there differences ? See screenshot of the 'odd' keyboard, attached - look at the TAB symbol which wasn't there before, and note the comma is gone.
7. Contacts - where is 'myself' gone ? Upgrading to ICS corrupted all my contacts, putting MY EMAIL ADDRESS into EVERYONE'S contact details.
8. Language in Input - It will NOT let you 'deselect' Chinese or Japanese keyboards.
9. Bluetooth with other devices - specifically, TomTom Rider 2 - which I've had for ages, most recently with W995 - TomTom tell me that all my SMS functions on the sat nav - which worked perfect with W995 - are NOT compatible with Neo !! How can it be possible that a new device is LESS compatible !! ?
All-in-all, 4.0.4 has been a BAD IDEA, and if you're happy with your phone on GB - LEAVE IT on GB !!
All 4.0.4 does is slow your phone down, remove facilities, make the camera worse, made video impossible, ruined my Contacts, and then throws you different keyboards in different apps, and then the whole thing sits down and won't work with TomTom.
After 4 generations of Sony phones, I think I may have to start looking for a new one, as Sony is going BACKWARDS !!
Unless, of course, I revert to GB. Can someone point me in the direction of a 'how-to' to UNDO ICS 4.0.4 ?
