hello sony.I have done the update and i have a problem, i opened the new ics gallery(which is faster than xperia gallery) i was watching my photos and when i closed it i saw that sd card memory from 1g free space went 960mb.At first i told that was mine imagination but i tested it and i saw that every time i use the new gallery it reduces my free space at sd card.what is going on?Did someone else has the same problem and if there is a solution for it?thank u.....
turn off/on your phone and check again
nothing my friend, i restarted my phone i opened the new gallery again i saw 2- 3 photos i closed it and the free space reduced again....
that's really odd, how about
settings -> applications -> manage apps -> gallery -> clear cache
something weird is going on here.I done what you said and i went to gallery again i close it and from 963mb it went 974mb,but i tested again and it fell to 972mb.i have to clear cashe every time i am using gallery?
no, I think it will use some of your SD card memory so it can load your pictures faster but once you are done using it, it will free-up some memory
thanks for helping i hope is what you said.There is something else that i noticed with my problem.I use astro file manager and when i saw my free space reduced i went to astro to see which folder "eats" more memory and i saw DCIM folder with 1,19G and i got crazy,with my camera i have took only 50 photos and 5 short videos,at astro it says DCIM folder 2870 files i clicked on the folder and i saw 2815 files at thumbnails folder whats that?
even if you delete the pictures on the DCIM file, it will save the thumbnails (unless you delete them) that's normal.
i have never deleted pics from DCIM folder this are all my pics i took from camera,when i open astro it has a choice sd card usage where i see how space the folders and files takes here i see the thumbnail folder with the 2815 files under the DCIM foder, when i go manage my files at astro and go at DCIM folder there is no thumbnail folder.where is it?
That's odd
DCIM -> .thumbnails
try OI File Manager instead
