Hello all,
So I upgraded the phone to ICS 4.0.3 and it seems I cannot find an option to encrypt phone under settings > security (did a google search and some suggested there is such option, but I can't find it)
What I have found is this:
If i connect to pc through usb I need to enter my screen password in order to be able to read the SD Card.
BUT, when I remove the sd card and enter it to an external card reader ALL data are available.
Is there no option to fully encrypt the SD Card in ICS?
What the heck?:smileyangry:
Thank you for your answer.
So basically you say there is no such option in neo v ics to encrypt the sd card?
But i read that in some devices there is such option.
Is it device-specific so to say?
I haven't seen any option to truly encrypt the SD card, other than 3rd party apps.
Yes, I have the very same problems after Xperia pro ICS upgrade an hour ago. Full device encryption was one of the things I made the upgrade. I am really disappointed... 😕
I feel like Cohen.
I was hoping for device encryption, too.
Although I am on a Xperia mini pro (SK17i), Android 4.0.4

it doesn't hurt to search the play store yourself and share your finding

Sure. Will do.
Last objective is enabling corporative e-mail, so it can be a challenge...
it makes me wonder though why this has been disabled by Sony, since it seems to be a standard feature of ICS. i'm using a Arc S btw.

hi all,
as promised, my feedback on the 3rd party apps:
i tried a couple and they do what the promise, but they are useless for the purpose.
what i need is really a full device encryption or sd card at least, and there is no app in the market comparable to what was supposed to be a standard feature in ICS. there is an app called whispercore that promised to do the trick, but its development seems to be suspended since it has been bought by twitter...
so, SONY, is there any possibility u guys to correct/enable this issue?
otherwise, the arc s wont be able to take the step from a very nice personal toy to a much more useful work connected device
thanks
best regards
