I use folders on the home screen to categorise apps so that I don't have to swipe to find things. About 2 weeks ago the titles of the app shortcuts inside the folders all disappeared. Any clues how to turn them back on? I couldn't find anything in the menus and a restart didn't do anything. Is there a cache for an app or background process that I should clear?
You can clear the cache of Xperia Home app, but it might reset your homescreen. Not sure about it so you can give it a try.
See this thread:

I don't recall moving any apps to the SD card. If I did how do I undo it so it'll show the titles to prevent this happening again.
Cheers.
cleared the xperia home cache, yup it reset my home screen. no biggie. At least now we know.
Unfortunately when i created folders and threw some apps in there the icon titles were still missing

.
skimmed over that thread. Most of the posts read like people are missing app shortcuts themselves. I'm not missing anything except for just the titles of the apps within folders on the homescreen.

Are you using a custom theme or a default Xperia one?
And also it could be useful if you check it happens in safe mode also:

A **bleep**, that was it.... Thought triflat theme was by sony so shouldn't have bugs (naive admittedly in retrospect). Switched to default and the names were there. Thanks all for your time and effort. A little annoying as I do like triangles.
