I just lost a lot of photos. Very Angry!

Well I just used Sony Bridge for Mac to export photos from my Z2 to iPhoto, then deleted them off my phone. Well guess what?? For 90% of the photos it exported THUMBNAILS?!?!?!?!?!? This is ridiculous. I've now lost all my photos. This is unacceptable. Is there a way to recover the photos? Unfortunately I deleted them off internal memory so I think no...

I'm sorry to hear that.

Always check if the backup and saved Pictures are okay, before you delete the pictures of your phone.

I always copy the pictures of my phone and do a backup just to be sure that I don't lose any of them.

As far as I know there is no way to save the deleted pictures of your phone.

Why your photo was stored in your internal memory and not SD card?

Yeah I admit I could have been more careful but I guess I'm just used to these things working... I saw the export complete and saw the photos in iPhoto so I assumed that was enough. I've never seen photo export from a camera, phone or SD card as thumbnails... it either exports or it doesn't! grrrr..

They were on internal memory because i copied them over from my Sony RX100 digicam. They copied by default to internal memory? Oh well... thanks for the replies. Very disappointed Slightly_frowning_Face

sony play memories only stores a lower/smaller resolution image, that and by using it you are giving Sony and their partners free, full and unlimited useage rights to your photos.

when you say it had imported only thumbs are you sure? what OS is itunes running?

if your pictures are stored on the SD card, you can use wondershare data recovery or other programs a like

Yeah definitely only thumbs. I'm on the latest OS X. Traced the files through iPhoto and they were like 1 or 2 kb each.. Slightly_frowning_Face ah well

Hello, have you stored these lost photos well on the phone memory card before this data loss troubles? In fact, about two month ago, my Samsung mobile phone also got the same data loss troubles and many photos could not be accessed due to RAW format error. But, fortunately, my phone stuffs had been stored well on the inner SD memory card and my boy friend said they could be restored back with the help of RAW file system SD memory card photo recovery software. Hence, we had tried several ones and finally rescued most of my photos back.

Hence, you also are supposed to take chances with such phone memory card data recovery software.

Hope such software also could be your chances to get everything back.
