I did a software repair on the XP, I don't know how to fully restore my phone.

I turn on the phone after the software repair, after I signed in the Google account, it asked me to set it to a new device or restore from a backup, I choose restore from a backup, but it said the backup is 5 days before, not the backup I've just created today.

I did the manual backup from the "Backup and restore" just before the software repair, I am pretty sure I checked everthing, I was using the google account to do the backup,so I assume the backup is on the cloud?

Okay, 5 days is better than nothing. After the restore, it did download back the apps I have, but I found that the data in the apps are gone, that is, every app is like newly donwload, facebook, whatsapp, google photo, etc. have to set up again, that doesn't make sense, isn't it? A backup and restore means restore everything just like nothing happened before. Even documents in the Download folder is gone too!

I am sure I have turned the google "Backup my data" and "Auto restore" on as well. And I did sync everything before I did the software repair.

And then I found that the "Restore" in the "Backup and restore" have the backup I created today in it, so I did the restore again using the backup from today, and still, the data is not restored. Not only that, it seems that I have to setup the whole phone again like a new device, granted permission to the apps, set up pin and finger print again......I am so disappointed how this turned out.

So the question is, is there anything I did wrong, or is this "Backup and restore" the best it can do?

Note: Not all apps use Android Backup Service. Some apps may not back up and restore all data.
