I cannot upgrade my xperia u to android 4

Hi there.. I had purchased my Xperia U October last year and until now I haven't figured out the way to upgrade the phone to android 4.. kindly advise as to what to do. everytime i connect to my laptop it says your device is up to date, while my device is still running android 2.3. I have checked online with my si no. and it says the update has been out since many months. here is it si # 1263-5054.

The first, you need backup your data (contacts, messages,...ect..) saving in phone, SD card isnot affect. Download Firrware and upgrade by FlashTool (Bin4ry)..

backup and root if needed...

If your PC companion says its upto date that means the ICS update has not been rolled out to your SI yet! many of Xperia U users are fed up of this issue! sony doesnt take responsibility regarding this anymore! they got what they want sold all the devices now letting the customers suffer! anyway as the previous comment suggest you can try contacting!

I have got the same issue.  I bought my phone in October as well.  Up until now, I haven't been able to update to ICS.  I have contacted Sony so many times but they refuse to help.  Now, they are just ignoring my emails.  I never expected such a horrible customer experience from them.  I think this is the last time I buy anything SONY!!

I am facing the same problem..I have bought Xperia u at December 25 2012 and its now March 17 2013...Many of my friends got their ICS update...but i am not getting...nd now i am really getting fed up with this update issue....

I live in Dubai, I actually gave a strong complain to the customer care and they apparently found a way to get the Android 4 on to my Xperia U. They have  called me and I hope it works fine!!

hey guys even i didnt get the ics update but today i did manage to sucsessfully flah it today using flashtool it works perfectly

Sony has definitely got to find a way to update all the remaining phones.  It's almost like they've released the updates for a few SI numbers and then just ignored the rest of us who still haven't been able to update.  It is just horrible customer care.  Flashing definitely shouldn't be the way to do this as it could pose problems for some phones.  They've got to find us the proper way to update.  I wished somebody at SONY actually read these posts!!!!
