my question is

I'm trying to update my phone software.In the Sony site it shows there is a  Latest available software: 6.1.A.2.45

Release date: 2012-09-03.

So I clicked check for the updates button.It says that my phone is updated till date,but when i checked in my phone it shows the old build number of 6.1.A.0.453.

Can anyone help me how can I update my phone.

It will be helpful.

I have the same situation as you for my UK (S.I. 1257-3114) Xperia S. I also want an update for my phone, but it seem that sony have give up on the UK market . At this rate we may get the JB update by 2015.

There is no offical update for .453, well not for UK SIM free as d10 says. Shocking bad service isnt it. Let them know about it and one day they might stop ignoring the fact that the .453 firmware is terrible rather than just telling people to repair the phone https://twitter.com/sonyxperiagb

I carn't wait for April when i'm due an upgrade so I can get a new phone. It'll not be another Sony after this fiasco. I've sent messages to Sony UK asking for when an update will be available, but all you get back in reply is the update is been rolled, and we have no more info of when you'll get an update.

I paid £420 for my Xperia S, biggest mistake (phone wise) i ever made. The upsetting thing is if they would fix the basic problem it would have been the best phone i have ever owned.

It is a shame that all it would take to solve most of our issues with our phones is a software update for the bug fixes and to make it more stable. I just carn't understand why Sony can take so long to roll out software updates for the phones. How hard can it be!

The problems i have with ICS were not present in GB so it isn't a hardware fault, like you say what on earth are they playing it
