Trying to stream HD content from amazon instant video on Xperia but only streams SD quality. I tried selecting an HD video and amazon says Xperia is not a compatible device that can stream HD
That's not a Sony nor an Xperia limitant but an Amazon limitation, just like Google limits the quality of their streaming in certain regions/countries, contact Amazon regarding this.
Just opened up the Amazon Instant Video app on my Z4, checked help > Video Quality & Formats:
"Amazon Video titles are available for playback in Standard Definition (SD) on Android phones and tablets"
"Movies and TV shows play in Standard Definition (SD) on Android devices"
Looks like HD isn't available for any Android phone or tablet.
I totally agree and not just amazon but other streaming services or charge an extra fee for HD versions
How did you get it installed anyway? I can't find Amazon Instant Video on the Google Play store at all!
That really is dissappointing since iphone can stream HD amazon content. I just mainly use this as a TV for my bathroom mirror reason I wanted that feature but @KCz4 try viewing amazon video from your chrome or firefox browser on the tablet and it should take you to amazon's app store where it auto downloads amazon instant video
