Updated to Android 2.3.4 and now the McAfee notifcation pops up on every restart.
I don't want to use McAfee and I can't uninstall it.
How to at least stop it from notifying or asking me to register?? It is annoying.
Thanks.

Xperia Arc
how come you can't uninstall it? open the app drawer -> tap on the bottom right icon -> look for macaffee and uninstall it
I know of some users in the UK are having issues uninstalling this app, you can always debrand your phone
Mine is not carrier branded (generic). McAfee came direct from SE firmware.
Anyway, I uninstalled it and seems it's gone... hasn't come back after 2 reboots.
I thought it can't be uninstalled as it's part of the SE system app, as I remember I uninstalled WisePilot and it came back after reboot.
Thanks.
anytime
The darn thing came back. After the phone is started, McAfee is on the notification bar (and there is no CLEAR button to clear the notifcation)
I proceeded to tap the notification, then tapped "Refuse" on the terms/agreements screen.. notification gone and McAffee did not start. Rebooted the phone and the McAfee nofication pops up again.
What is this SE? I can't uninstall McAfee and I don't have to option to make it stop bugging me?
mate u can try to uninstall it again but before uninstalling you can clear it's data by pressing on "clear data" first and then uninstall it...
another new update it's comming up or you can debrand your phone

or
the newest should work with Xperia Arc and Arc S
Thanks. I'll wait for the update.
Mine is not carrier branded. And I don't plan to root my phone or use custom ROM.
Thanks.
PS: I'm actually using SGS II for a week now. The Arc is sitting around without SIM... I'm waiting to give it to someone else later.
you should sale it
rooting won't affect your phone, you can unroot anytime w/ PCC or Update Service, to root you don't have to unlock your bootloader at all, it takes few seconds
This is how to root
