How to Reset Bluetooth?

Every time I try and connect my phone to the car via BlueTooth the devices find each other, the password box (for car BlueTooth password) appears on phone screen for half a second, then disappears before I can enter password and comes up with error message saying unable to connect to car, paring code rejected. But I havn't been given the chance to enter the code as the box disappeared.

I have previously had the phone connected and it worked fine. So the problem seems to be that the phone is trying to connect the the car using previous saved data/password.

In other words, I'm quite sure this would be resolved if I could delete all saved blue tooth devices from my phones memory. When not in my car the car Blue Tooth is not shown as a saved device, yet other things are when they are no where near my phone.

How can I reset all BlueTooth settings on my phone ie clear all saved data without doing a complete factory reset? I have already tried clearing saved data from Smart Connect but that didn't fix the problem.

If you go to Settings > bluetooth > you should be able to see any device synced/pair with your phone.

Did you change the original password?
Did you delete the saved fone from your cars bluetooth?
Did you try pairing them automatically without any password?

I'd try pairing with another fone,if it works normal,then its the vehicle side that's the problem

U should only be able to delete,if it's paired
If any bluetooth device is set to visible then you should see it,but wont be able to do anything till its paired

I tried an iPhone and it worked ie it connected with the car

So that would indicate the Xperia is at fault?

@Twinkle55

it could be a compatibility issue, what if you boot on >>> safe mode

It used to pair until I had another car for a week and then got this car back.

I'll try safe mode
