How to POWER ON xperia T properly?

When ever I switch the phone on it says "sim card removed" and then "shutting down". As a result again I have to switch on the device 2nd time. Always I have to switch on twice. Have anyone facing the same problem? Is there any other/proper way to power on the phone? like holding the power key or volume key in a different way??

That sounds strange! Are you sure that the phone doesn't say 'SD card removed'. Because that is normal if you have an SD card inserted in the phone. 

You can press and hold the volume up and power button at the same time until the phone vibrates 3 times to turn the phone off.

Thanks for your reply. I am talking here about switching on the device but it seems like you have replied about "turning off". Sorry if my post was not clear. Please note I am facing problem while switching the device ON not while shutting down.

You could try a software repair and if that doesn't work get a new SIM card. I've had telephones that would work a SIM card while others wouldn't work and that is with the same SIM card.
