How to get older version 'android'

I got a main problem with my sony xperia u microphone and i tried to repair it since i bought this phone from a friend i got no warranty and no payment confirmation.

My friend has the same phone but an older android version ,now my question is cis there anyway to get old android version back? im on 4.0.4

i would like to change back somting like 2.1.1 somting like that

You may be able to downgrade your handset from Android 4.0 to Android 2.3 however this will vary between region.
