How to decrease screen brightness further?

I'd like to decrease the minimum brightness of the related slider. Is it possible to do so?

EDIT: I mean the backlight so full black pixels become darker too.

move the brightness slider to it's minimum then enable auto brightness

Hm, that didn't change anything, the full black screen is still annoyingly bright in a dark room.

I read threads about "kernel modules" which can change something deep in the system to allow

full control over backlight voltages. They needed rooting which I'm not prepared to do but I'm

curious if any xperia users made it work.

Holy crap it DID do something... my screen was at teh usual minimum brightness, went to sleep

then I get a notification and now the screen is pitch black while I can interact with it...
Well it is not blinding anymore, thats for sure...

lol - this is the problem with the screen black out - move the brightness slider to maybe the mid point and see how that does

the brightness slider sets the scale/range for the auto brightness which I tried to explain to people on another thread

Shame that I can't see sht anymore...

EDIT: A reset (volume up + power button) helped... phew.
