something might be blocking the proximity sensor as the screen should be locked when you are on a call

If I get it right, it seems your screen keep being active while you have the phone close to your ear... and it actually should switch off because the phone has a proximity sensor right next to the ear speaker that makes the whole screen inactive immediately when you close anything (like ear or face) to it while talking.

If the sensor doesn't work, it could be because any of those:

- you have installed some third party app that handles this proximity sensor and doesn't allow it to work the way it suppose to work (like some software locking the screen when you close your phone cover, or something like that)

- you have the phone connected to the charger while you are making a call (the sensor won't work in charging mode)

- the sensor itself is malfunctioning... you can check it by typing *#*#7378423#*#* on the dial pad, this will take you to the service menu and you can find there service tests, including the proximity sensor test.

That's my guess.

This is something I always advise as a lot of people are worried about pressing buttons with their face so dont hold the phone too close and this causes the proximity sensor to not activate which causes the exact problem they are trying to avoid.
