How to block a specific number with sony xperia z3 compact?

Hi I have been receiving harrassing sms and calls and would like to block this specific number. my mobile service provider cannot block for me. Does Sony Xperia have this inbuilt function?

how pity, sony doesnt have any technician to support this service... left problems among users...!!!!

i used to have samsung S2 ( very old version) which had black list for unwanted calls to pull easily...after years, Sony doesnt even aware of such an utensil tool....most of the app doesnt either not handy or not working....

I just use the "Call Blocker" app by embware which i downloaded from play store and it works a treat for me - blocks both calls and messages from any number you add to your blacklist and best of all it's free

no its not, you are still able to see unwanted sms, in the menue "blocked" messages LOL

Blocking Calls/Messages is a default function of android, that means you dont need to install apps for blocking messages or calls.

Blocking means your device doesnt receive any message or call and you are not able to see if someone tried to message or call you.

It's also a default function on Windows phones.

Hi - You can save the number as a contact then go to edit contact - direct all calls to voicemail.

hi Sam, thank you for that. BUT i can't help but point out the obvious,  that callers can still harass by leaving voicemails.  My previous Samsung S3 mini, simply didn't allow calls from blocked numbers. That was on a very much older version of Android...Do Sony foresee adding this functionality to an otherwise top class device like the Z3C?

I use True Caller App and its great because it lets you ID unknown calls and gives you opportunity to block numbers.  It helps because you share these numbers with the community and everyone gets to know that this specific number is who it is.
