How to avoid unwanted apps?

Hi All

I am not a user of FACE BOOk and RECOMMENDER but most of the time my phone shows these as running apps. Similary, I am using Google Maps but don't want to be runningalways in backgroung. Is there any easy way to get rid of theses unwanted apps?

The only way to avoid unwanted apps, aka bloatware is to root phone and than remove or freeze them.

for android 4.0 or higher:

settings > apps > alls > search for the facebook app or google maps >  unsintall all upgrades

repeteat the process but now the button of uninstall all upgrades should be something like disable the app
