how long does it take for "Android is Upgrading... Finishing Boot" on the xperia p to get over after updating software on phone with help of PC Companion?

mine was done within 2 mins !! even another user has had the same problem !! i guess restart the phone and it should should start normally though with many bugs !! repair the phone with seus or pc companion and also do a factory reset !! if still problem persiosts get in touch with sony service centres !! any more queries are welcome !!

thanks guys, i tried all that. now the phone has started, network and internet is fine too. but where the hell is "gallery" icon? and what has happened to the "option" touch button at the bottom (right most one)? as for now i am backing up the phone to restore it later after software repair. any more precious suggestions are most welcome at this juncture.

seems to be an issue with incorrect installation.. reset factory setting and restart phone... still not working, download SUS and try to repair the software and fix the issues.. still no fix, contact service centre.

gallery icon is now replaced by flims and album in ics !! also i guess u aint able to access the settings !! it is on the notification bar with a symbol !! only wallpaers and themes can be added using the options button u r speaking about in ics !! i prefer u do a factory reset this time before repairing !!

Hi,

try holding vol up + power button till the 1st vibration then restart phone after 1-2mins this will lead to few disabled features and lags etc...

ok guyz, i was away checking all the settings of my phone (accessed settings icon from applications, and yes its available in notification bar too...noticed that). every thing seems to work fine including all kinds of networks like bluetooth, nfc...(havent tested the wifi yet). ok "gallery".....my bad, yes i found "album" icon in applications. ok backup of my phone is ready too.

now the big question, should i repair my phone....just cause FINISHING BOOT didnt finish and i had to press VolUP+power button after helplessly waiting for 2 hours and restarted the phone.

ok yes screen shot (previously available by holding power button) is not available or please tell be how to take screen shot with ics version which i have now (hurray).

I would suggest to try a repair anyways as far as you know that the installation was not complete.. may be you will face some serious issues going forward, though it seems fine now..
