How is the display of xperia z1?

How are the viewing angles of Z1 and screen quality? Is it worth buying?

Zanger I disagree with you, in the past it was worst, but now Sony changed a lot and seems to listen to the customers mnuch more than before.
Of course non of the company's perfect.

Azzido...  I don't think SONY is listening to customer's feedback and they have become worst. My handset was replaced 7 times in 3 months you can imagine the quality of Sony mobile and now I have demanded refund of money what I paid. I can't go through this nightmare again and again

There are Z1 available manufactured in December I am planning to check if they have same problem as initial ones ( Yellow hue and touch screen). If Sony had listened to customer's feedback they would have corrected the issues

Azzzido, I find NO evidence supporting the claim that Sony changed in any way.

It still screws own customers, is ignoring them, isn't fixing, replacing... faulty

phones. It may one or two here and there if a local service center does it

by mistake and if forced by a local retailer but those are rare exceptions

and fluke.

I cannot recommend this phone or this brand to anyone. Two days ago I had the phone in my pocket and I got a little sweaty from working, so there was a very small amount of wetness over the screen. It went insane and began doing things on its own, without me touching it. This is with the ASF on, and the protective layer that was inside the box when I got it. So, let's see the list of problems I had with the Z1 since I got it:

  • Touchscreen is utterly broken, a problem common with MANY users. Almost unusable for gaming, and sometimes for small things like moving icons or typing and browsing.
  • The phone restarted itself several times within the first 2 days after purchase. It also shut itself down, and refused to turn on. Also, the screen sometimes went black (but backlit) and couldn't be used for anything. I fixed this after four factory resets and using the SUS and repair software.
  • The wi-fi signal is weaker than an iPod touch 1st gen, or ANYTHING else I have with wi-fi. Worst wi-fi reception I've seen on any device, to be honest. Forget about using wi-fi if you are more than 2-3 meters away from your router.
  • The battery is completely crazy. Sometimes I fully charge it and it gives me 6-7 days with stamina. Another day I charge it to 100% and it gives me 3-4 days. Does not make any sense from a user's point of view. Can be deemed as broken.
  • The phone destroyed my perfectly good microSD card and while doing it drained battery x2 faster and behaved slowly or buggy. The Z1s are not grounded well and I think a lot of them are defect in this regard. This is also probably why the touchscreen and sd card got broken in the first place.
  • The phone is obviously not really waterproof. Some minor wetness over the screen can make it go bat**bleep** crazy. Some users reported that their phone went dead after putting tap water over it. I am scared to try myself.
  • The phone scratches like no tomorrow. DO NOT USE IT without protective screen layers, or you will regret it. If you remove the ASF cover your phone is esentially without warranty. So all scratches on it are forever, unless you want to void waranty. Another bulls*it move from Sony.  + I was not provided with protective layer for the back side of the phone. Which essentially meant that Sony gifted me with scratches from day one, without giving a f*ck.
  • The camera button sometimes doesn't work for no reason, making you miss important moments you wanted to capture. The phone is also riddled with many other software bugs. You can already see 4.3 has made the battery worse, as if that was possible, along with many other new bugs. I don't plan to upgrade soon.
  • Speaker is terrible. Do not listen to people who say it's 'loud'. The iPhone 5 and 5C/S speakers make this sound like a toy from Mcdonalds. Not only that, but when you apply all that software bull**bleep** (Clear Audio, xLOUD, bla bla bla bla) your sound will clip. This means you will hear cracklings and sparklings in the sound, because the speaker is not loud enough physically and the software is making it overdo its job, potentially damaging it. I give the speaker a 4/10.
  • You can absolutely see the whole touch matrix that is under your touchscreen, if there is some light going directly towards the screen. I have not seen this on other phones. iPhones and Samsungs, or ASUS all have hidden touch matrixes that you can barely see. For this phone you don't need to try. You will even sometimes see it while playing games or watching stuff. It's terribly ugly for a phone of this price, as are all the other pathetic issues.
  • On top of everything, my phone arrived with a very small scratch on the usb cover, rendering it impossible for me to return it within one week. This is not Sony's fault, I know (I should have checked the phone throughly before accepting it from the courier), but just adds to the whole nightmare.
  • I am sure there is more, these are just the problems on the top of my head.

Overall, if I could return this phone and get my money back - I would do it instantly without second thought.
