How do I turn off App Notifications

Hi, 

I was wanting to know how I would go about turning off App Notifications. I'm going abroad and I know that using data roaming can quickly mount up but one tip given is to disable your App notifications of updates/posts. For example my email App gives me frequent updates so I'd like to turn off App automatic updating until I chose to access it. 

How would I go about doing that?

Better to restrict background usage of mobile data:

- Go to Settings -> Data Usage -> tap on the triple dots on the top right corner of the screen -> Choose "Restrict background data"

This will prevent any app from using mobile data unless you open it and ask for updates.

Google play auto updates can be turned off via the settings of the play store app then - Open the play store then tap on the or open the menu then select settings then at the top Auto update app then select Do not auto update apps
