I'm having trouble working out how to play music from my SD card with Walkman. I can play one song at a time when i find it in File Commander but i was wonderinghow i can put my music on the Walkman app so i can search for different songs easier.
Walkman adds songs from your whole device.
As Alexdon said above, the Walkman player find all your music on both the internal storage and the SD card as long as it is a supported file format.
Can't you find the SD card music in the Walkman player? Have you restarted your device? In which file format do you have your files on the SD card?
the Walkman app is a music file player . Once you access the Walkman player , it will bring up all songs on device if you looking for a specific song to play search for it in the Walkman app no need to go to file manager to access music . hope that answers your worry ?
the format of the music files on the SD card are the same as the music files that were already on the phone/Walkman when i got it and there's no SD card option on the Walkman app. it's really strange
But there shouldn't be a preferred memory from walkman, you should just see the songs.
i agree. i have never had the problem of my Xperia S, Z or Z2 detecting any of my MP3 or MP4s.
i suggest u copy the files into a computer. use Mediago to add the files to your xperia. you can then dictate where to save the files. either on the internal storage or SD card.
Media Go will also convert the file into a format that your xperia can play.
Is your Z2 "seeing" and accessing other files on the SD card?

Reboot so that your phone checks for music.
If that doesn't work, go to Settings > Apps > All > Media Storage and Clear Data, then reboot.
It should be fine after that.
If that doesn't work, then go in the folder which has all the music in your SD Card and check for a .nomedia file.
If you find it, then delete it and repeat one of the above processes.
