How do I disable the Japanese mode in my keyboard and the spaces after each letter whenever I type?

I accidentally clicked something, I don't know what 'button' I clicked but I did cick something and my keyboard suddenly turned into its Japanese mode

I just want it to be the way it was before (without the Japanese characters)

Please do help me

Welcome to the forum

If you are on ICS

Settings> Language and Input and change the default keyboard to Xperia Keyboard and if possible uncheck all and leave just Xperia Keyboard

hi thanks for the advice, but in the Language & Keyboard settings of my phone, there are no boxes to check.

Under the Keyboard Settings, there are 3 options (all w/o check boxes); these are:

Xperia Tm keyboard

Xperia tm Chinese keyboard

Xperia tm Japanese keyboard

Ok then got to >language and input and then  under default select Xperia Tm Keyboard and you are done

To diasble:

1. Open a new SMS.

2. Press and hold your finger in the text area.

3. Tap "Input Method".

4. Tap Xperia Keyboard.
