HORRENDOUS battery, what to do

hey guys

my battery life on xperia sp has deteriorated since day one, had the phone for two months. took good care of it, never over or under-charged it and ran the battery down to zero every time. why is battery life so bad? is it a software issue, are u guys experiencing it (both 4.1 and new 4.3 update) and what to do about it

just to give u guys an idea- it will barely last for 1.5 days on a full charge (100%)

first of all you must not let battery reach zero..that will reduce battery life

SP has great battery life..may be you use some apps that cause problem..task killer battery saver or this kind of apps

Check your battery usage in phone settings. Maybe it wil show some apps that have unusally high battery usage.

There are some apps like Wakelock Detector on Google Play which may help you detect which app uses the most cpu and makes your battery drain faster than usual. They are not 100% accurate, but can give you some information where to look further.

I had similar problem with Facebook app in last firmware version... after disabling it... battery lasted longer for 1-2 days.

I don't use FB, so it didn't matter to me, but to someone else it might.

It will be wise to re-install the latest update with either PCC or SUS

then it will take a week or so for Android to learn how you use your phone, also keep in mind that certain apps and services will drain your battery faster
