Home Screen Notifications

My new sony xperia X performance phone is on my way (receiving within a week) and I am so excited to use and play with that and I am sure it's one of the best phones in the market

Meantime can anyone tell me the type of notifications I can see on my home screen (locked)

I never used Android phones before and don't know what's on the screen

Will this show:

1. Emails
2. Text messages
3. Calls
4. WhatsApp messages
5. Any other

Whenever you get your Xperia 

Settings > Sound & Notification > When device is locked: 

• Show all notification content
• Hide sensitive notification content
• Don't show notifications at all

App notifications > you can select which apps you want to see notifications from or mute others.

Congratulations on your new Xperia and welcome to the forum!

In general all notifications will be displayed unless you change the settings @uliwooly mentioned. In addition to that it's also worth mentioning that some device administrators can force your phone to hide sensitive content or block all notifications when the phone is locked, corporate Exchange accounts usually force the phone to block/hide notifications.
