Hi All,
I use Xperia z1 and I have installed 360 Security (Memory and Cache Cleaner App) and it shows Memory used as 66%.
The android version installed on my phone is 4.4.4.
When I compare my phone with Nexus which is used by one of my peer, it is way better in memory consumption as it shows only 30% memory used. He has installed most of the apps.
Please do let me know who can we reduce memory usage in Z1.
Thank you
You should not use that kind of apps or optimizers. If you restart your device, how is the free memory?
sony mobile put a loads of apps on the phone which you cant remove, they start up when the phone does, and reopen if closed, its a nightmare to free ram thanks to sony mobile
If your phone doesn't slow down or doesn't give you memory related notification it means that the os is doing it's job.
It is useless to use any thrd party app for managing memory because the Android os has it's own method of managing processes and any app that you use for killing tasks results in incensing read write operation and interfering whit android task killer, because when you kill a process, android will restart that process according to it's needs and you increase battery consumption.
I have 2 GB of ram and 1.6 Gb available for use, and i have 350 - 650 MB of ram free. In safe mode i have 800-900 MB free
Here's an article to understand how the android system is managing its processes and look at "
The Process lifecycle"

That is true. You can not uninstall those kind of app but you can disable it by going to Settings/Apps/All/ tap on any buildin app and/ disable. There are some you can't disable but for those you can it wont start again and recive updates...
which means its still on my phone, using up space on the rom, which could be used for something else, what ever way you look at it, its wrong, and should not be going on, i should not have to put up with apps i dont want, i should not have to mange them, they cant be removed off my high end phone, which i paid alot of money for, the apps that cant be remove also get replaced by updates, which takes EVEN MORE space, its just wrong, i only have about 600 mbs free, you must have no apps on your phone, no games no nothing, so your not the normal user, stop sticking up for them, both my strange and ram are effected by sony mobiles actions
I'm not sticking up for them. I am also bothered by all the apps that came whit the phone because i don't use them all and some are wasting ram and storage. I wold like for a smartphone to have a native option to manage startup and manage native apps so i can run only the services and processes that i need when i needed and nothing more. I don't like background automatic activities so I'd like my smartphone to do all activities in foreground when i ask for them and do minimal background basic activities.
I have 146 (4.5 GB) Apps installed and that's all that i can ever need from applications. I don't play games very often on the phone and not GB size games. I have 5 GB free memory for application data and other stuff and for my music collection I use a 32 GB card and that's it.
So I'm against bloatware and restricted native apps and my need for memory is not so hy like yours and I manage whit 11.7 GB available.
Thanks all for ur prompt reply, but still waiting for a solution.
My peer uses Nexus 4 and he has installed more apps than me and has installed 360 security as I have done. But his memory is just 30% and mine is 65%. My question is what is the nexus uses to keep memory free and sony doesnt.. ?
Is that just because nexus uses raw android and sony uses the build which is add ons used by sony. ?
you have hit the nail on the head, Dheeraj12, yes its because its a sonys phone, with all of sonys apps, Nexus phones have just android, nothing more,
alex00752, bloatware should be a thing of the passed by now, but its not, still to this day we have to put up with apps we dont want, we should be given the choice, if we want it or not
What are the both phones max memory and the memory that is user available? because even if both phones have 2 GB of ram not all the memory is available to user and that 66% could be from a less available memory to user. And maybe nexus doesn't have sony preinstalled apps and services and that can make some difference because Sony has allot of them :)...
