Try recuva and see if you can recover your files.
Your problem can't be fixed with PC Companion.
You need recovery software.
Greets

here is the fix to the PC Companion
1) Go in the registry (open a dos command and type "regedit"):
a) Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0" and verify the key 1400 has value 0 (if not change to 0).
b) Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\" and verify that you don't have any "crappy folder" name, as in the attached example http://rapidshare.com/files/454333853/registry.jpg ).You should only see folder 0,1,2,3,4. If any other folder with strange name is present delete the folder.
c) Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0" and verify the key 1400 has value 0 (if not change to 0).
d) Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\" and verify that you don't have any "crappy folder" name, as in the attached example http://rapidshare.com/files/454333853/registry.jpg).You should only see folder 0,1,2,3,4. If any other folder with strange name is present delete the folder.
2) Close PC Companion using the option "exit" from systray (right click on PC Companion icon in systray).
3) Re start PC Companion => Your dashboard should now be displayed.
hi there nolramlb, i did the instructions above, file 1400 is set to "0" and no "crappy file name".
still the same no item on PCC Dashboard
i hope SONY could give me the specific FILE
hmm are you sure? the folder is not named "crappy" there should only be 0,1,2,3,4
try reinstalling your pc comapnion.
