Help with backup please:

Using PC Suite I backup my phone, select everything, but my contacts don't actually backup except the few on the sim card. Where am I going wrong?

Perhaps you have opted your SIM contacts to be visible by default on your phone.You can change this to phone contacts.Otherwise, if this isn't the case, just copy all your phone contacts onto the SIM.Hope I'm on the right track.

Thanks Dr_Chris, you may well be right, but I've been through all my menus a million times and your answer raises my other problem - I can't find how to copy contacts to or from the sim, and I also don't know what you mean by "sim contacts visible by default" - I've never seen that setting either!  Help!

Try this: From your main menu go to Contacts and highlight one of your contacts--from options select More--from this sub-menu select Advanced--From this sub-menu select Default contacts which will tell you which ones are visible and you can choose to swap between phone and SIM contacts.From this last sub-menu you can also choose to Copy to SIM and Copy from SIM.

Aaah, now we're talking, thank you!  Don't know how I've managed to miss that little lot, but it certainly helps to find it now.  My contacts won't all fit on the sim but the option to back them up to the memory card is great (though I still can't actually see them on the memory card when I interrogate it as a mass storage device). Thank you.

No problem.You can't see the contacts on the memory card; they're hidden and the only way to get rid of them, if you ever needed to, is to format the card.
