Headset notification issue

Hi

I took my xperia z5 compact to the pool and now I have a problem

Everytime it gets a little wet the headset connected notification flashes on and off repeatedly, this is frustrating and it causes the phone to warm up

How do I fix this?

You should open all the ports and leave the phone dry up in a warm place. Hopefully there is no hardware damage done.

There shouldn't be any problem if sony is claiming ip68, anyone else having this problem?

Hi jonpdxb,

Welcome to the community,

It is best to remember that the handset is IP68 however you should not put the device completely underwater or expose it to seawater, salt water, chlorinated water or liquids such as drinks as stated.

@jake xperia support

Ip68 means that the phone should be submergible up to 1.5m for 30 minutes but my ip68 phone isnt, it does this in purified water too

My xperia z2 tablet has no issues so why does my newer phone?

I had this same problem days ago, but was when I placed the device under the water tap. I tried turning off and on the handset, put in and out the headset, and nothing. Even with the dry P2 input, the warning still appears on the screen. What decided me was put it back under the water tap, filling P2 entry of water and let it dry normally. It never gave problem again.
