Headset goes undetected

Hi ,

I have been using mini pro (SK17i) since 1.5 years .

I boughti t from ebay dealer India ( wo is not traceable at the moment )

Issue :

while connecting headset to the audio jack , the headset goes undetected after sometime ( after playing the song fo a minute or so ) .

At times the headset is detected and at times its isn't . The problem was with Gingerbread and its still persistent with Icecream Sandwic after i updated .

What i did :

>>> updated to ICS by PC companion , andriod version (4.0.4 , buid number : 4.1.B.0.587 ).

Sony service center reply :

I went to the Sony center in pune and they said the model is not from india and they won't take it since its outside Country .

Problem :

I do not know if its a hardware or a software issue ?

if it was hardware then the headset would never have been detected .

if software then after update abd repair the problem should have been solved.

Help Needed :

i need to get my jack reaired , local sony center isn't helping.

Should i replace the audio jack ?

Any suggestions ?

I would recommend that you try your phone with another headset to make sure it's not a problem with the headset. Also make sure that the headset is labeled "Sony Ericsson" and not "Sony". There are two different standards for headsets so not all will work with your phone (see http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/Problem-using-headset-accessory-not-supported/m-p/347872 for more information).

If problem also occurs with another headset, try making a repair of the phones software in PC Companion and then try the phone without installing any 3:rd party apps or any backup to make sure it's not an installed app or similar causing problems.
