Headphones not detected after update to 5.1.1

Hi all,

After updating to 5.1.1 my Z3C no longer detects when I plug in my headphones (neither the ones that came with the phone nor others).

- Clearing data for Smart Connect doesn't help

- Rerouting sound output with SoundAbout does work, but is not practical - it shows the jack itself is not broken, though

- Installing SmartKey did nothing

- Production week is 15W25, so not from the "faulty weeks"

I have not done any "software repair" or factory reset yet.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue after updating?

Update: Have since done the software repair through the PC Companion. The problem still persists. Sony Support tells me to send the phone in for service.

Hey I had/have a similar problem. I posted a issue some weeks ago here and got this reply: /t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/Xperia-Z3-Compact-headphones-not-working/m-p/1015137/highlight/true#M13389 I'm about to run through the steps now so can't say if it works yet, but maybe this is worth checking out for you aswell. I am also having the same problem a few days ago. Have you managed to solve the problem?

No, no solution. Support asked me to do a "software repair" through the Companion, and if that didn't help I would have to send the phone in for service.

I have just gone through the repair procedure, but no luck. I guess there's no escaping sending away the phone, then.

Now all I have to do is to somehow find a phone (that accepts nano SIM) that I can use in the mean time - I can't do my work without a phone 😛

I own several xperia devices and i had the same issue to all of them.The devices are the follow Z1,Z1 Compact,Z2 and Z3 as well.After upadate to 5.1.1 had issue that headphones not recognized.The issue seems to be comon for several users and sony avoid to give any official answer.All over the same answer try a repair that is far away useless.

Hallo again,
I think that the devices after the update to 5.1.1. And had issue with headphones not recognized have bricked, that's why Sony avoid to make any official announcement for that issue as it seems to appear to many users. Whoever is under guarantee I suggest to give right away for replacement as no other solution exist to fix this issue. For the rest good luck.

Oi ! Sony! please fix the bug. We are so frustated. Is this your customer service. I have Z1 this should be my last Sony device ever had. Must go back to HTC.
