Headphone Jack not working

Hello Everyone,

A few days back I started experiencing problems with my headphone jack and I don't know what to do. I tried cleaning the headphone jack but it still didn't work. I tried multiple headphones it still doesn't work. Like when I plug it in, it connects and then any sudden movements it disconnects. I read other forums and tried out what they suggested, disabling Smart connect and downloading soundabout app, but it still doesn't solve the problem. It would still connect then disconnect. I really don't want to send it in for repair because of all the bad experiences people had. Also once the phone gets opened I don't think it will ever be the same and I don't think it will be waterproof since the adhesive will be removed. Anyone has any idea how to fix this issue?

Thanks

It seems that you will have to send it in, you could repair with XC

Xperia Companion (XC)

Software Repair Guide

Alternatives on How to backup Xperias

Thank you for the quick reply. It seems I would have to send it in for repair but I won't do it. I don't want to my phone to lose its waterproofness. Also, the app soundabout works 70% of the time which ins't bad. Thanks again

Hi Toaster21,

Welcome to the community,

Having the device sent to a service agent will not remove the waterproofing, our service agents are able to repair a device to meet the required warrantable state. So any waterproofing a device has will still have it after repairs.

However, this must be done with a Sony Mobile Authorised repair agent.
