Hello,
I have noticed that there is a difference in the way to detect if the sliding keypad is open between certain firmwares of Xperia Play.
Specifically, 3.0.A.2.181 uses Configuration.hardKeyboardHidden whereas 3.0.A.2.184 uses Configuration.navigationHidden.
From what I have been able to gather, this is an issue on 3.0.A.2.181 which was then corrected on 3.0.A.2.184.
Are there any other firmwares with the behaviour from 3.0.A.2.181 or is this issue specific to that firmware?
Thank you,
- Marc-Olivier
Not sure but are you aware that there are later versions of the PLAY firmware?
e.g. 2.3.4
You can try to perform a software/firmwware update using PC Companion
Connect your phone to the PC via the USB cable
The update option on PC Companion (Support Zone --> Update).
Please backup your phone data and settings before proceeding.
Another way is via the SE Update service
http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1317636927/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.10.7.exe
Download, install and launch the update service. Follow the onscreen prompts.
Please backup your phone data and settings before proceeding.
and also, if the update is available over the air, you can try to do it directly on your phone
Go to the Settings Menu ---> About Phone ---> Software Update ---> Accept
We are building application and do not have control over which firmware is installed on the user's phone. I assume that the buggy behaviour is only present in 3.0.A.2.181, but if anyone knows of any other firmware affected by it, please let me know.
