Hi,
I just had my arc through last week, and I use it a lot in the car. The problem is that i'm using it with the MH650 handsfree kit, and the button on the microphone extension only seems to control the music. ie. It won't answer or end calls, and I can't seem to use it for voice dialling either.
All that happens when I press the button is it plays/pauses the music currently playing. I tried installing winamp to get around the problem but that didn't make any difference.
Any ideas?
Hi,
Please be aware that we can only guarantee compatibility and full functionality of accessories manufactured by Sony Ericsson. I suggest that you contact the manufacturers of the accessory to see if it is not a compatibility issue.
The handsfree kit in use is the MH650, which is the one supplied in the box with the handset. I should assume this is genuine SE merchandise as it came bundled with the phone from the manufacturer?
Hi,
I apologize for the misunderstanding. I thought that you were referring to a car accessory kit also called the MH650. I just had one of my co-workers call my arc using the headset and when I pressed the button, the call was automatically answered. I believe that you must press and hold the button for a few seconds before letting go. Is the music player on when you try to answer the call?
No, the music is not playing when I try to answer the call, but it begins playing when I press the button to answer. I've tried an extended key-press on it too, but no difference.
I've also tried doing an extended keypress for voice dialling but no such luck.
Hi,
Reboot the phone and without accessing the Music player, meaning that the application is completely closed, try calling the device and see if you can answer the call then because as I said earlier, I just did it successfully. If not, I suggest you go back to the dealer and look into replacement options.
Hi,
I've just tried rebooting but still nothing. When I press the button to answer, you can see that it's turning the music player on and off, but the ringtone still keeps going and doesn't answer the call.
Is there anything that I can do from my end as I can't really be without a phone to send it back to the people who sent me the phone, and i'm not sure that they would accept responsibility as it was an insurance replacement.
Thanks,
Martin
An update. - Uninstalled Winamp for Android, and suddenly the headset answers calls. However, it's still allowing voice dialling when you hold the button down. I assume that's how it's supposed to work?
Thanks,
martin
Hi Martin,
I'm happy to hear that you got the headset working for I have to agree with you, wouldn't want to be without my arc either.
