My Xperia P handset is getting abnormally heated during simple operations (including wifi and gaming). Please let me know whether this may lead to an safety hazard? also let me know how to prevent these and what may be the possible reasons behind the issue?
Well, it's hard to determinate if there is something wrong with this device. The phone will get hot while playing games and using WiFi since both are very battery consuming. The phone has built in functions to prevent any damage from over heating and will inform you if the battery gets to hot. After a while it will even turn off if it reaches critical levels.
But, if you feel uncomfortable using the device due to heat, you can always send it in to a service center for a check.
I agree, I know its normal for the phone to become warm with long use (and not to mention the aluminium body seems to absorb my hands body heat quiet well). However, after the update to 6.1.1.b.1.75, the phone seems to warm up faster.
I wouldn't describe it as hot though. Just warm.
A worthy note for the developers that there quiet possibly be some wasted battery power from creating more heat energy than previous firmwares.
Thanks for reply. Actually the device is not getting heated throughout... it is happened only once till date. The user switched off the phone immediately feeling the over heating. Till then its running fine. However, I just wanted to confirm whether the user should consult expert opinion if it happens frequently.
