Graphics positioning problem

Hello,

Ever since I bought my phone, I had this strange issue where the arrow pointing at the facebook notifications and messages was misplaced on the screen (see the first two pictures in the gallery, link in the bottom of the post). I initially thought the facebook app was the problem, however, I have noticed similar behavior in other apps such as exDialer, where the dial button is very large and pushes the other two buttons to the margins of the screen, instead of being smaller, like the outlines I have drawn on the screenshot. (On any other qHD screen i have seen, the size of the dial button is much smaller, and the position of the other two is also different). Last but not least, graphics positioning glitches can also be seen in the stock Timer app, where the arc that corresponds to the seconds is misplaced, floating in the wrong position, and not even being drawn completely.

It is true that I have unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom kernel, and changed between roms (official stock ICS .54 and .75 firmwares with no modifications), but I had this problem ever since I first booted up the phone and noticed it in the FB app.

Does anyone know what could be the cause of this problem, and how can it be fixed? Or is it a hardware problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

As far as my facebook app the arrow is not well postioned, but i really dont know the use of that arrow, the arrow can be misplaced but it does not affect the app function in anything. I think you should contact the facebook app developer team to help them to fix that issue.

Was your timer working fine before the custom kernel?

Because my cellphone is stock and we have similar functioning on the arrow on facebook app  but the timer in my cellphone is working as it should. Maybe the problem came after installing the new software.

why not trying uninstalling the update with your apps that are having problems. lets see what happens.
