I appiled an Xperia software upgrade last week to my M4 Aqua. since then I have real problems with the GPS signal, which worked ok before the upgrade. How can i tell what the software version is and can i "roll back" to the previous version?
In my case, the GPS DOESN'T locate exactly my real position when I'm driving and it's impossible to rely on its locations because the blue point is, sometimes, 2 kilometers further than where the phone device is located, as well as the GPS signal is so weak that it signal is non-existent in many cases in outdoor landscapes.
Some weeks ago, the device worked properly.
Same here, Google Maps will not work in automobile, GPS keeps losing signal. Set to High Accuracy. Tried Safe Mode but cannot run GPS test software.
Same problem here - noticed after upgrade to Android 6.x. Previously I had months of a phone that worked fairly well.
I happened to upgrade just before a trip to the UK and assumed the issue was my offline map program, however when I got home (Canada) I found that the problem also occurs with Google Maps and have confirmed it with GPS test software. There's been another firmware update last week, but still no joy.
I have a Sony M4 Aqua model E2306 now on Android 6.0.1 (26.3.A.133)
The GPS is now completely unusable for navigation or sports tracking.
Somtimes a reboot or even cycling the GPS will cause things to work for a few minutes - but only for a few minutes. Using a GPS test app in clear sky, when things are good, I get a lock on 8+ satelities. However, very quickly I end up in the "bad" state - when this happens all of a sudden only 1-3 satelites show a lock. Similarly, right after a reboot the built-in "Diagnostics" might show the GPS passing, but if I try again in a few minutes, it will fail.
Since this started happening after a firmware upgrade, I hope there is a firmware fix or down-grade. I've tried rebooting in "safe mode" with no improvement - it actually caused the google play service to go into a crash-loop. Otherwise I'm going to see about getting the thing replaced by my cell carrier this weekend.
