GPS not detected and GPS icon is gone

Hi all,

I recently upgraded my Xperia SP to the latest 4.1.2 Android version. I'm not sure whether the error I report correlates with this update.

The GPS is not working.

According to GPS Test the GPS is on, but it does not detect any satellite. I've tried waiting for more than 30 minutes.

The problem is the GPS icon in the top tray that appears when GPS is on does not appear. Not even by turning on GPS manually with the applet.

I've tried restarting the unit, but the problem persists.

How  can I check if it is a hardware or a software problem? Any help?

do you have any taskillers, task managers, antivirus, battery apps installed? how about stamina on?

I don't have any of this, except for stamina. I tried turning it off and the problem persisted. In fact, the GPS has worked previously with stamina on.

I restored the factory defaults and now the GPS works. It's a bit of a pain to re-install every app, but now the problem is solved.

I'm glad its working now
