GPS issues after 4.1.2 update - Xperia P

Dear Sony,

Recently my Xperia P was updated to Android 4.1.2, expanding its possibilities. However, since then both Google Maps Navigation and the paid for Navigon navigation app are unable to fix GPS sattelites and thus unable to navigate.

Please acknowledge this issue and provide a fix on short notice.

Hi all i'm having the same problem, after the update to JB GPS doesn't fix anymore, i try the solution proposed by Airbolt and and all worls fine agin, the GPS fixes in about 5-10 secs using GPS TEST, try to do this

Hust try this. Download Android assistent from google play backup your data and go for fectory reset setting. and restore data.

Hi guys,

the same problem on my phone, can find about 6 - 8 sattelities but can't to fix it. My recipe is: make the back up to PC, than reset to custom settings, restore from PC to phone, and again reset to custom settings and restore. After this my phone can find about 13 sattelities under 5 secconds and also to coneect about 3 - 4 under 5 seconds.

Should it can help you, if not sorry but my phone is woring properly after this procedures.

I tried the GPS test and the GPS is not function that well, none of this is effective on my phone, plss i need your help.. other option i guess? not the rooting stuff pls

Many , if not all sony phones suffer from this and sony apparently doesn't care. Only solution is: get rid of the sony phone,  learn from the mistake and move on to another brand, do not buy a sony phone again. Problem solved.

SONY do something with this problem!!! the same with call delay... give us fully optimized android!! we gave you our money so we expect fully working device

Im getting pretty tired of not being able to use my GPS. Lesson learnt, never will buy Sony again.

still having this problem. no news from sony.

after update from ics to jb, gps fix takes very very long. half an hour or longer most of the times.

neither deleting nor redownloading agps data (using gps test or gps data apps) is a reliable fix for this.

i had  misgivings about buying a sony, mainly because i had so many otherwise brilliant sony products with designed in failures, e.g. walkman headphone out breaking, dat recorder broken after recording "too hot", minidisc recorder not writing toc anymore after exactly 1000 hours of usage, .., rootkits on audio cd's, ..). Is this the same? will sony ignore this?? Is this even on purpose?
