Google search window doesn't close

Hello everyone!

Does anybody know how to close this application? When I close it, it disappears but appears again when I open the list of the minimized applications; it is the one which is impossible to close.

Reboot, force reboot, force stop of Google search application and cache cleaning don't solve this problem. Thanks in advance!

Hello @chicadelluvia and welcome to the community!

If you reboot your phone to safe mode, are you then able to close the app (swipe it left or right from the latest app menu)?

No ;( The thing is that Google Search app can work (and works) in the save mode too and doesn't s stop in it.

You mention clearing cache for the app, have you also tried clearing data for the app?

If you (temporarily) remove your Google-account from your phone, are you then able to close the app?

  1. Yes, I've also tried to delete all updates for the app and reupdate it.
  2. No, but when I change the user, there is no any app opened.

Could you try to disable the app? Go to Settings > Apps > All > Find the app > Disable and see if you can swipe the app left or right when you open the latest apps. Then enable the app again to check if you can still close it.

When I press Disable, it can only delete updates (doesn't help) and if I choose Stop, it doesn't solve the problem too.

In that case I suggest you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Keep me posted!
