I am facing the same problem. It is irritating and it is "GOOGLE" maps...it has to work properly on android at least....or is Sony's software responsible for this behaviour?

Rupesh it is disgusting to see maps and latitude not working. and mind it sony website advertises this feature in phone specs.

You can try one more thing which I did not (now phone not with me !)

clear update if any, clear all data then Shut down phone. REMOVE BATTERY. Put back it switch on.

Keep 3g data or wifi internet on while starting map first time. I read this in one of forums for htc one.

Hi

I went to settings-privacy-factory data reset and reset the phone. Even after the reset google maps behaved the same way. Then i updated it from google play and voila...it started working fine. Also after reset my wife suggested to use the browser to open google maps, which i did.. I dont know if that also helped.

Now the maps, lattitude works really well and street view tooo. The maps app hasnt forclosed since....
