Google Account Login Problem

Hello. I am using Xperia S with firmwire version number 6.1.A.2.45. My phone was working perfect, but from 5 days back, it cannot login to my Google Account. As a result, i cant use any of the google features including Gmail and Play Store. I did not make any change in my google account settings. After experiencing this problem, I have removed my google account from the "Accounts and Sync" option and tried to re add the account but got no result.  Every time I try to add the account, the phone tries to sign in to Google for around 30 minutes and then fails. I can use internet and all other applications without any problem. Kindly help me out with a solution.

is your email @gmail or @googlemail?

also on your computer > change your gmail password and try again

is your internet connection working properly?

Hi, my email address is "@gmail.com". After getting your reply, I have changed my password from pc and then tried to sign in from my phone, but again it failed.

My internet connection is working fine. I can access all web sites. All my internet dependent apps are also working fine except the Google services.

so you were able to login to your gmail with the browser app but not with settings > accounts & settings > add account?

you could do a settings reset

it might be an app acting up

such as:

antivirus, taskiller

Once you have tried everything that Uliwooly has advised, if the problem continues please return the handset for assessment by an authorised repair agent.
