I've discovered that emails to me, that were arriving in the Mail Inbox of my husband's iMac but not in the Email Inbox of my Experia L, have been hiding all the time in a set of Gmail folders at the end of my Experia L's Email folders.
I don't understand.
Why don't they appear in my Inbox, the folder that appears when I open Email. They appear by default in the Mail Inbox of my husband's iMac, as well as in an unhelpful set of Gmail folders that insist on remaining on file at the end of the iMac Mail folders.
Instead, I'm told I have no emails, even after tapping the Download icon.
However, if I tap on Inbox and open the drop-down-list of Email folders, tap Show all folders, there, right a the bottom of the list, I find Gmail. I tap Gmail and, finally, find both sent and received emails lumped together in an All mail folder, amongst the same unhelpful set of Gmail folders that appear in my husband's iMac.
Is this how it is supposed to be?
Is there no way of making my Gmail emails appear by default in my Inbox and Sent folders?
Incidentally, I appreciate that the All mail folder also appears in the initial drop-down-list and that it's not necessary to plod all the way through to the Gmail folders. I'm just curious know whether this All mail folder is the Combined view, referred to in the Xperia User Guide, though without any illustration that I can find of what it looks like.
