Gmail Sync Issues! Significant delays sometimes!!!

Hi all,

I've been searching all over the forums, am I alone with this issue? It seems that my new Xperia Z faces sync delay issues after being "connected" for a few minutes or hours. What I mean is if I have just gotten off of Airplane mode, or switched from 2G to 3G or other way around, I get my Gmails instantly. But after a while, Gmails are sometimes delayed by up to 30 minutes!

Battery Stamina mode is off, syn is on, and I have notifications on for all emails.

I've wiped my device clean multiple times and I'm on the latest (.253) OS. This is getting quite annoying. My iPhone receives Gmails before my Android?!!!!

Could it be a hardware issue? If so I will take my phone in. Are there other settings I have missed perhaps?  Has anyone else experienced this?
