Hi... i got my active in January 2012. within a few days i got an option for software update for Gingerbread itself. this update has some new graphic display variations and it was good. recently i gave factory reset and the phone gone back to its initial version. can you please tell me how to get the update again?
i dont want to upgrade to ICS as my frnds said the phone gets hanged when we do it. i need only a gingerbread fw upgrade.
Please help!
Best regards,

ooh. that would be impossible now with Sony Update Service or Pc Companion only gives ICS for active.
try to go to a sony service center and see if they can get the upgrade back. http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
He's better off getting an official GB firmware from WotanServer, since that's probably cheaper than the additional costs charged by a service center. I believe that even with warrenty, it will cost at least 10 euros in a service center, and the phone will often be away for at least a week...
really? that's bad...our service centers here doesn't charge customers anything as long as it is just software problems.. tsk.
I remember that someone on here said that he took his phone to a service center to downgrade the firmware, and it costed him money, and he had to miss his phone for two weeks.

I'm currently considering on samsung or other brands, don't know which cuz they're all better than sony and I'll reach my goal anyway
