Front Camera not working Post ICS Update

So, many weird things started to happen with my front camera. Right after the update finished two days ago, I tried face unlock and it said it could not start the camera.

My first attempt to fix the issue was to reboot the phone. It did the trick and the camera started working. But not for long. It stopped working after an hour without any usage.

My second attempt to fix the issue involved reparing the installation with PCCompanion. And after 3 or 4 atempts it started working again. This time I heavily tested the face unlock feature and found it really cool.

But I don't know if it was because of low light conditions when attempting to unlock the phone or if it was because of really short screensaver time (the phone kept locking itself while the front camera was starting), but the camera stopped working again.

I did the repair again and this time the face unlock option dissappeared and the front camera still wasn't working. I did another repair and the face unlock option reappeared, but the front camera still didn't.

After browsing these forums I tried to repair using SUS to no avail and tried to bring life to the front camera with the test menu ( *#*#7378423#*#* ).

I did it again with PCCompanion and most of the attempts resulted in "This device doesn't support this function" in the test menu and my last attempt before making this post had the front camera working on the test menu, but again, after a while I decided to test it again, and despite recognizing the camera, it didn't show any images, just black.

So, what can I do next to fix this issue? All I got from this was deleted data and wasted time.

Tke the memory card out and see if the camera works, although it would say no memory card but see if it is working

Hi there,

Main camera works with and without sd card. Front camera doesn't work with and without sd card. In the service menu it shows "This device doesn't support this function".

Formatted and front camera doesn't work. Removed sd card and front camera doesn't work. Repaired software without sd card inserted and front camera doesn't work. In all these situations the service menu test replies with "This function is not supported bt this device". Main camera works with no issues.

I'm in Portugal and I'm not sure if there is a service centre in my country.

I am having the same issue and tried every solution tha you have posted but to no avail.. Still looking for someone expert to get this fixed..
