Hi everyone.
My step Daughter changed her unlock swipe and subsequently forgot it. After over 300 attempts she sheepishly brought it to me to sort out. Usually I'm fairly good with technology, but this is beating me. I can usually google things and sort it myself.
I've tried the 'forgotten pattern' but it says 'invalid username or password'. I have confirmed that it is the correct username and password by going onto google play and it logs in ok and shows all the apps downloaded.
I've tried the *#*#SERVICE#*#* but that doesn't work with this model (well it's not working for me anyway - it works ok with my GF's Xperia T).
I've downloaded and installed various software to help me remove the keyguard. The ADB SHELL is installed and working ok, but through every software I've tried it recognises there is an Android phone connected, but it isn't in Debugging mode so it won't connect 'enough' for me to do anything through the shell or through any other software.
It's looking like a hard reset, but I thought I'd run it by you guys to see if there is one last thing I can do before having to lose everything (she has photos from a school trip she really wants - yes, she should have backed them up!)
It seems like the SP lacks so many of the features and ways to access the phone that other Xperias permit.
Thanks in advance,
Rob
You maybe able to use Google to reset it but if not then you need to perform a system repair see below for details but be aware this will factory reset your phone and unfortunately is the only way
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
