Flash bleed a warranty issue?

Hi there, ive recently got a Z1 Compact and tonight noticed issues with the flash messing with pictures.

After searching around and finding that it seems to be a defect with some handsets, i assume Sony will exchange the phone under warranty?

What is the process of claiming on the warranty and would i be left without a phone when sending this one away?

The phone has been great otherwise.
