No it doesn't affordable the waterproof. I've also broke mine while charging, it disconnected from the plastic holder but I putted it back and it's still waterproof. Look as long as the silicone around isn't damaged (pealed off ect...) it's still waterproof mate.

so
first problem caused by water was from 3 months my phone died , i cant turn it on ! so i puted it on rice , the phone started booting but it crash after showing the boot animation and force turn off , then i puted it on the rice agin , the phone booted but , the phone booted on Safe mode caused by the holding of volume down , i didnt holded nor pressed the buttom , the problem caused by the water entred the VOLUME KEY! and i got the same problem on the camera key , it wasnt working and sometimes half working sometimes it launch camera only and refuse to capture some times it only focus without capturing , i awaited 2 weeks till i finished my holidays so i can visit the service center but the \problem has been fixed except the camera key wich i do not need so much , now after 3 months the problem CAME BACK AGIN! The volume buttom is stucked , it force the phone to be on silent mod , but the camera key worked 100% AND the i noticed some water entred the Camera ( Vapeur) and the qualty of the camera has been reduected compared to my 3 years old xperia arc and 2 years old xperia V and the 2 years old xperia Miro , Every sony phone i got , got with it a hardware/software problem like the laggy update of isc of xperia arc , the buggy update 4.3 of xperia v and the laggy software of xperia miro, i was an sony fan since the sony erricson p990i wich was my first phone , and i think this is the end of sony for me

already contacted them and didnt got any answer , and i forget to mentoin the water damage issuse has happend before the flaps has been detached
