I have been using W395 and if I keep the phone idle for some time in File Manager, the phone returns to standby. This happens also when I am seeing a movie and if I have paused the movie. Then I will have to start watching the movie from the beginning. Anybody else having the same problem? Any solutions?
Try updating the phone via Sony Ericsson Update Service and remmeber to backup all your data before the update as this will be erased during the update.
No Update Service for this phone. I updated the software via the service center but still the same problem. Anyone else having this problem?
I used to have the W395 and because there is no update service or PC suite for this phone, the only other option for dealing with any problems that arise, is a master reset. Again, make sure you back everything up before you do this, as the reset will clear the phone and reload the same software with the original factory settings, hopefully sorting out any issues during the process.
Dr.Chris,
You said you had W395. Did you have this problem when you were using W395? Also, this is not a problem that arose suddenly one day, it has been like this since I bought this phone. I was wondering if Sony Ericsson had made the software purposefully in that way. Do you have information regarding that? And which phone do you use now?
Thank you.

No, I didn't have this problem specifically but I couldn't receive, but could send MMS (despite all the settings being correct), a problem I had from the start with the W395 and was fixed with a master reset.I found the W395 to be quite buggy and sometimes it would fail to recognise the memory card, but was OK again on restart.Since then,I have had the W595 and W995 whose software is more stable. If the master reset doesn't fix the problem on your W395, then you should contact SE.
I also had the memory card problem. But nowadays it does not come. Maybe since I full formatted (not the quick format ) the memory card using my desktop. I do not send MMS so I'm least worried about that. I'll also be switching to W995 most probabaly in January. I will try to master reset my W395 but before that how will I backup my contacts? I know the Sony Ericsson Sync won't work on my phone. Any other options other than sending the contacts via bluetooth to another phone?
Well, you can save the contacts on the SIM card and put it in your new phone. As for Bluetooth, I thought you could mark all your contacts and send them all in one go.Or have you tried this and it doesn't work?
Of course I have tried sending via bluetooth, it works. But sending all is difficult. It's not that it I'm lazy, but it will take a lot of time to mark one by one. No option to 'Mark all'. Well I guess that is the only option I have left. Have to wait till I meet my girl friend next coz she has Elm. I'll send to Elm and then reset my W395. Thank you for all the valuable advice you've given me. Will let you know the results once I am done. Thank you Dr.Chris.
I reset the phone. No use. Still same problem.
