Feeling disgusted by loose magnetic charger port in xperia z3! Can't believe Sony makes this shoddy thing. The magnetic charger magnet pulls out the port. See pic. Now I lost waterproofness for which I paid bucks for this phone just 2-3 months ago.
It is a chronic sickness of xperias (Z3, z2, ....) and a pattern that many other people have to go through this problem. Look at this thread: /t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/Magnetic-Charging-Port-Is-Not-Covered-By-Warranty/td-p/891158
Sony tell me how to fix it. Since Amazon can't send this phone to Mongolia, I paid a friend to buy and ship to me and waited and waited. After having gone through many other issues which I kept fixing reading forums like this and my initial enthusiasm is getting evaporated now.
You can't push it back in? Have you contacted your local Xperia support to see if they may fix it?
Local Xperia support? Like the one in the U.S.?

hi,
I used this: http://www.amazon.com/Magnector-Improved-Performance-Magnetic-Charging/dp/B00Q3GK3YI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=U...
Sony's own stuff would have caused no problem? Now that I can see the inside, ANYWAY the charging port structure looks very flimsy, barely having stayed there with some thin glue which easily peels.
When recording video in swimming pool, just 10cm below surface, I noticed annoying buzzing sound got in the video. I suspect now it was some short circuit caused by tiny leakage thru the flimsy port. And that was before I acquired a magnetic charger. How can I use it for offroad, tough travel situation?
I was wondering why sony would want customers buy a separate charger when customers need a tiny accessory which can come in the box with the phone. The top part, thumbnail size part in this picture is all that is needed:
There's no Sony maintenance or care center in Mongolia. So I don't expect to go anywhere to complain. I read in this forum that those who send it back and got new phone still encountered the same problem in 2 months again. I respect Sony quality, but this one is the opposite.
Should i use a shoe fixing old style glue to fix this 21st century smart phone? Someone on this forum wrote he is considering to use a sealant to fix it:
I am considering this sealant or old fashion glue. Will that be the end of my Sony hassle? I did not care of problems with this phone as I like Sony. But issues happening again and again eventually makes me question.
PS: other problems I encountered: camera suddenly won't work. I kept digging and found someway. the problem seemed to be caused by software. Finally camera resumed. I believe sony has amazing camera related hardware side in the phone.
Then the fm radio one day died. Also started searching answeres on the internet. And finally had it working ok.
Then the music app fails. I deleted and installed another app.
Then screen/display won't sleep as expected. Though I set display sleep time at 1 minute and turned off double tap wake function, it won't sleep if it is in my pocket. While in the pocket maybe some tiny electricity caused by pocket and phone display friction makes the display active. It is disgusting to pull out the phone after hours in the pocket with fully lit display which had drained battery as if I played game for hours. Then friends tell me I called them, when they picked up they heard me walking or talking with someone else. In this fashion many times my phone made unauthorized calls while in the pocket.
I have no way to tackle this problem. So few days ago installed screen turn off app. This seems better. Not Z3's own setting.
Then I could not connect my Z3 to pc for so long. The combined hours to fix it is a full day. Because I tried many times to connect and failed, and abandoned. Only to try again after some days. Luckily I connected it to PC yesterday.
I'm very sorry to hear about your phone
Reading the reviews for this 3:rd party charger on the Amazon link you posted i suspect mr_xzibit is right. There are many complaints there about a poor fit and the magnet being so strong on this charger that it's actually able to pull out the connector in the phone over time. The magnetic charger connector on the phone is designed for our docking stations and wireless charging covers and is not meant to be used with 3:rd party products with that strong magnets.
I'm afraid i can only recommend that you try to send the phone back to the dealer or a service location in the country of purchase for repairs and that you avoid using these kind of accessories.
i just wanna ask i've been using the magnetic cable from the dock while traveling ( yeah yeah why did i took it apart ) and while cleaning the phone i noticed the magnetic connector on the phone is a bit wobbly it moves a bit like 1 mm when i push it with my finder nail up or down like a ruber is this normal ? the preassure sensor says that the phone is still *waterproof no leaks
